She emerged from the den, black-stockinged limbs shaking. A light layer of earthy dust dulled the usually vivid ginger and ivory of her coat. The vixen's eyes were blank as if she had received a shock so terrible that it had wiped all other emotions away. She forced herself to walk forward, bringing her closer to the center of the clearing where her den was situated. The sharp tang of blood was still fresh in the air. Backbiter did her best to ignore it; she did not want to be reminded of what had gone on here in her absence. Just getting close to thinking about Rambler made the long scratches on her muzzle sting. For a moment her heart sped up and her muzzle wrinkled, dark amber eyes gleaming with anger. The nerve of that bastard, sleeping with another vixen! Then, of course, she remembered her present situation and quickly sobered up. Her kits were dead and her mate was no longer her own.
Backbiter stumbled her way toward the center of the clearing, planning a course of action. She had no kits to nurse, meaning that she would have to go through the painful process of letting her milk dry up. Her mother had told her of an herb that helped mothers who lost children stop milking, but she could not remember many details of its appearance or where it grew. A new den would have to be found; she couldn't stay here, as the wolf might come back. There was an abandoned badger sett nearby. She could sleep there tonight and find a new den site tomorrow.

As cerberus made his way threw woods he knew living his lands meaning he left his two bundles of life unattended. But they were safely hidden away in a secret spot that only he and genocide knew about. As he continued on he lowered his head in search of something to feel his stomach. As be walked his head jerked upwards as his ears perked up towards the sound of twigs snapping.
As he walked around towards where he heard the sound. As he looked over the hill a rabbit there nibble on wild flowers. As he stalked low to the ground he circled around, as he got closer he bolted towards the rabbit makejng the chase start as he got closer he his powerful jaws clamped around the pathetic animals legs. As he head jerked back he threw towards the air watching it fall and hit the ground violently.
As he watched his prey try and limp off he sprinted towards it ending its life with a quick bite to the back. As he held his prey, he felt the animal motin go limp as he carried it away some motion caught his attention in the distance. As he mad his way closer the smell of blokd hit his nose. As he investigated more the scent was what he guessed was a fox family and the very faint scent of a wolf a rogue that meant trouble if he came near his territory. As he walked threw the bushes the black beast looked like a ghost in the shadows as he made it closer to where the smell was there was a female fox that there. As he stopped at the entrance he lowered his head and let a growl loose sending it threw the tunnel in hopes to makeing her come at him easy instead of crazy

The mouse tried to scramble off but it was blocked by yet another dark paw. It squealed and hurried for another direction. Sadly, snapping fangs drew it back. There was no way out. It kept stopping it from escaping! The monster was playing him for all his worth.
Leonardo burst out laughing when he leapt to stop the mouse again. Just watching its wide, panicked gaze was enough to send him into a fit of hysterical laughter, something so few may have heard from him. Life was about fun, at least for him. And fun was watching the mouse squirm. His tail smacked the little mouse away, watching it tumble before landing on its back. There were a few sudden twitches before it stopped moving, body stiffening when death's cold claws wrapped around it. "Tsk, what fun is that?" he spat, swatting the carcass away. It was no good for eating now when its heart wasn't racing like he wanted it to.
Ah, but what was this? Blood? True to his nose's confirmation, there was the scent of blood in the air and it was definitely not a mouse or prey. Unable to help himself, a flash of his pink tongue curled over his whiskers. Perhaps there would be fun to be had here. The long, lanky creautre slunk out towards the direction the wind carried this from, finding his paws to move faster.
He made haste.
Then he caught the scent of wolves which did not particularly please him at all. 'What is this? A vixen and a wolf?' Leo slipped into a bush, pressing low to the ground as he crawled towards the edge to confirm his thoughts. A male wolf had approached a vixen. Not far behind her was a den that he could tell was covered from the scent of blood. Now that he was closer, he could tell that the scent was of kits. Perhaps that wolf there had killed those kits and enjoyed the blood? Ah, but it was not his place to judge. Still, the urge to eavesdrop made him hunker down quietly, waiting to see how this played out. After all, there was possibly a benefit for him somewhere in all of this.

She turned her body to the right, eyes scanning the seemingly solid wall of leafless bush branches. There was a path there that she had been working on clearing. It was supposed to have led to her parents' den. That way, if there were ever any predators or anything that she and Rambler couldn't deal with themselves, the family could run down the path to safety. The leaves that had fallen this season had set her back to the start in terms of progress. The only sign that Backbiter had ever done anything was a slight dip in the leaf carpet where it had once been. She huffed, shaking her head - no need to worry about it now.
The sound of large paws hitting the leaves to her left, accompanied by the wafting stench of fresh blood, made the young vixen go rigid. The murderer was back. Instead of turning and confronting him, as a less sensible creature might, the slender fox moved as quickly and quietly as she could into the bushes that roofed her escape path. That bastard wouldn't be able to follow her through here; no grown wolf could make their way through these thick bushes. Backbiter came to a half a few feet into the bushes. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth in a silent pant. Her little run-walk hadn't tired her out. Though you would never catch her saying it, her fear of the wolf and the adrenaline it made her body produce was what made her do it.
( ooc: yeah, Pit... She was already out of her den by the time Cerberus got there. And sorry that she didn't see Leo in the post, Spike; I promise she will in the next one )

( Sorry I thought she was still in).
As Cerberus watched the small animal he noticed she tensed up and and ran threw the thick brush. As Cerberus chased after her he was brought to a sudden halt with the bushes stopping him. As he bit and tore at the grass his ears perked and scanned the area with a light breeze blowing his way now the scent of a male fox hit his nose. As his head looked around his blue eyes scanned the area for the fox. As he looked around he yelled at to where ever the fox was to spook him into moving even a little bit." Show yourself and I promise not to find and kill you vermin".
As Cerberus continued to scratch and tear at the grass he knew the threat would make the fox come. But what he was more interest in right now was the female fox that just bolted away. As he walked around in a circle he started thinking of a plan to get either one of them out, as a idea struck him if this was the males mate he would come to her rescue. As Cerberus leaned his head down he rushed in threw the grass barking and snapping trying to scare the female and to reveal the male.
