- born to a pair of wolves near Genesis: Regina, a Mexican Wolf, and Rex, a Northern Rocky Mountain Wolf. Both were escapees from a wolfdog breeder. The breeder had taken them from their native ranges and smuggled them into Genesis, saying that they were nothing more than a pair of very high-content wolf hybrids.
- Regina hated her life of captivity and breeding. Whenever she would be forced to breed with one of the stud dogs, she would find a way to abort her litter: eating certain plants, scaling up the chainlink fence a ways and then throwing herself down. While Rex felt much the same, he did not exactly mind getting to breed more than once a year.
- The pair escaped captivity when the breeder left town for the weekend. After digging their way out, the pair went on a killing spree. They either killed or maimed every dog that they could sink their teeth into. When neighbors came to investigate the cause of the blood-curdling dog screams, Rex and Regina fled.
- they had a litter together in late April. Rex had assumed that there would be more than one pup, what with how large Regina became and the way she cursed him while in labor. Regina delivered only one pup: a male that took after her in pelt and his father in size. Regina blamed the small litter on the humans, believing that she had become less fertile because of years of poor nutrition and the litters she had aborted.
- Legionnaire was raised as any normal wolf pup would be, though his parents placed particular emphasis on the hatred of man and his ally, the traitorous dog.
- Stayed with his parents until his second birthday, at which time he left to find a pack that shared his and his family's ideals. If he could not find one, then he was determined to start one.
