" It was in the days after that battle in which we had our hardest conflict. Yeah, I know. What could be harder than an all out dog fight with the Terrans whilst trying to contain the blight. I'll tell you. Infiltrating M-Labs and getting back the body of the Key. Weeks previous, Ruien had tried to join the Remnants. I didn't trust him then. And still didn't even after. Call it lingering bad taste. But I was willing to overlook it. He was strong. And he had a reason just as powerful as mine to want the body of the Key back. So I decided to drop my own personal convictions against him. And allowed him to lead a group of Remnants into the M-Labs base on the Lost Continent. What I know about what happened there I get from reports and CCTV footage. By the time our forces invaded they had already begun to make preperations for moving the body. Apparantly M had his own little rebellion, one of his clones wasn't willing to play game with using the body of the key. I'll give you one guess as to whos clone. Ruien. Thats right. I'm not quite sure what happened to her. But Ruien says M killed her. But honestly I don't really believe that. There was something about that glint in his eye that told me he wasn't being completely honest. And there was that name. Persephone. In my time as leader of the Remnants, I've learned that theres no such thing as coincidence. That its just an illusion created by someone who is controlling events.
Regardless. The body of the Key was recovered. And we burned it. Every trace. Gone. We'd cut the head off the snake. Ruien joined the Remnants. And we had M-Lads on the run. Or so we thought. I was so sure that everything was going to be fine. That these recent few weeks of activity would be nothing more than a bad memory. That we could return to being silent watchers. But I was wrong. This was no snake. It was a hydra. "
In the year after the defeat of the Solomon's Key. Gaia has returned to relative peace. At least. Thats what they want people to think. In truth. Things have actually gotten far worse. After the defeat of the Key the creatures known as the Manifests have begun to gain sentience. Forced into cooperation. M-Labs and The Remnants have been fighting a losing war in the shadows, trying to keep the lid on an ever expanding can of worms. Ultimately things are going to spill out into public view, its really only a question of how much damage can be avoided before they manage to pull off their final trump card.
