Nemesis' paws lightly touched the dirt path that led to the Sven lake. His twin harks were pricked, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them. His ice blue eyes were locked a head, scanning around for any signs of movement. His tail waved behind him like a banner.
Nemesis' ivory and ebony coat gleamed in the sunlight that cascaded down past the clouds.
Fall was now coming in. The weather was getting chillier now. The temperature had dropped a few degrees. The sky was mostly now a battleship grey, but there had been some sun. As the season progressed, that would diminish. Winter was only a few weeks away. A chilly breeze caught his fur, whisking it around in several directions. The cold didn't bother him that much. Being a husky mix, he tolerated the cold weather better than some. Nemesis reached the lake and planted his rump down. His forelegs kept his upper body erect. He parted his jaws and tilted his head back, letting out a howl which he knew his pack would hear.
When he stopped, he would just wait for his pack to come. He would start assigning some ranks and whatnot .

The grey vixen was faithfully there, the thought of winter coming without pack mates to protect her from hungry dogs chilling her to the bone. Pun not intended.
She wasn't one much for howling, being a fox, but she understood its importance even so and headed forward quickly, leaping down from her perch at a nest. Once again she'd been eating bird eggs, a tasty supplement to anyone's diet. A few concerned parents had left a nasty welt on her forehead, though, in reward for her activities, as well as a nick on her leg. But a few little scratches never bothered sassy ol' Scout. No siree. No pain, no gain. Well, truthfully, she preferred gain without pain or risk, but did such a thing really exist? She doubted it.
It worried her how small the pack was, but she could have sworn she'd smelled and seen some others besides the alpha around here. They'd show up. "Yo, King! Guess I'm first to arrive. Wad'sup?" she gave her typical, lazy slurring of words, making it seem like she didn't have a care in the world. Boy, did she wish!
