An odd pair of wolves walked out into Vast Meadow controlled by the Northern Ridge Pack. The two stopped just inside the outer edge of grass. The first wolf was large grey wolf in breed with a pelt of deep black. She stood tall and proud, not even seaming to care that the lands she was in were already claimed by another. Her massive head was held high and there was a dangerous glint in her glowing eyes. The second wolf was one of an odd sight. She was of the redish orange maned wolf. She followed two paces behind that of the black one. Her ridiculously long legs where bent so she was shorter then her leader. Her head come up to the black one's shoulder. Never higher but sometimes lower. Her large ears where bent back in a submissive way.
Come Mab. Lay next to me. the black wolf purred to her companion. After a short hesitation, the maned walked up next to her leader and laid down on top of the grass with a sigh. The black wolf then sat on her haunches and placed her right paw on Mab's back. Her paw moved almost in a petting motion. Suddenly, her head short towards the sky and a loud howl ripped out of her. She then settled in the wait for the leader of the land to answer her call, all the while petting the back of her companion. Note;; Lea talks in teal. If Mab speaks it will be in maroon. Sorry for the crappiness that is this opening post. First time to use either of these characters. Within a few posts I should have them nailed down.

When an intruder howled, Genocide went on the move immediately. Her pregnancy, annoying as it was, did not yet hinder her but it would soon. Her belly was already rounding a bit. Soon she'd have to dig a den.
It was with confidence she came. Not only were these her lands, but the intruder had howled. The polite usually didn't intend violence or trouble. Usually. In any case, she still needed more paws around, especially in the brief vulnerable time when she'd be out of commission to care for bawling moronic mouths. The actual sight, however, of the two threw her off. First, that there were two, second that one was tall and bright orange. At least it-- her, she realized after a moment-- smelled nothing like one of those domesticated traitor wolves that called themselves dogs. This was another species of wolf, then. Fascinating. She'd never met another so different before, so exotic. But she didn't let her orange eyes linger there long. It was obvious who was the dominant one, the howler. The one of the grey wolf species. Another female. Tail high, in case this was a challenge for her position, though it was the wrong season for it, she spoke. Her teeth shown the entire time, of course, feisty. "Greetings. I am Genocide, leader of these lands, what is it you wish from my pack?" They would not have called her without a reason, surely, the white female wolf thought. She took in the black female's frame with interest. Proud and tall. It reminded her a little of herself.

As Cerberus patrolled the territory he thought about genocide and how he was about to be a father. As he continued to walk he wanted to make sure this land was pup proof marking the borders. As he his ears perked he heard a howl so he sprinted towards the area where he heard it as he began to slow his pace he caught his mates scent along with some other females scent.
As he looked up he saw his mate on top of a hill and he saw to other wolves a brightly colored wolf and a black wolf. As he moved threw the brush towards his mate he heard her greet them. As he came threw the brush he walked and sat beside genocide as he looked at he her he said in a concerned tone," Dear you know with your condition you shouldn't be moving around I will handle things for you alright". As he looked from her he looked at the two wolves sitting with the other petting it like a pet." Well my mate has introduced herself I am Cerberus the alpha male here may I ask what brought you here".

Lea smirked as a pregnant female came towards her and Mab. Her paw kept moving forward and back. Her nails scratched along Mab's spine reach time she pulled her paw back towards herself. Each time Mab would shiver with pleasure. Mab looked up at Leanansidhe with a loving look as the white female came even closer.
When the female reached them, Lea dropped her paw down to the grass and turned her full attention to her. Her dark ears pricked when the pregnant one began to speak to them. She nodded her head in greeting to the female. Before she could speak, a second wolf came towards them. She watched him closely as he came closer. Mab's head lifted from the ground and she started intently at the male as well. Her pink tongue lolled out of her mouth and hung to the left. Her sharp teeth flashed as she panted. Her skin and bones sides moved slightly with each intake and outtake of breath.
Lea smirked as the male spoke to his mate. Lea once again started to pet Mab. The red orange wolf closed her eyes and sighed before setting her head down on the ground. Leanansidhe. the black wolf spoke. Nodding towards her companion, she spoke again. Mab. She then looked back to the pair before her. Shall we make a deal? Note;; Lea talks in teal. If Mab speaks it will be in maroon. Sorry for the slow reply.

Genocide, her mood even more grumpy because of her pregnancy and hormones, glared at her mate. Even knowing it was probably true, she despised having it said aloud, especially in front of two loners. "I can handle myself. I'm not invalid just because I carry your runts." she snarled. She liked him, truly she did, but Genocide had a rather sensitive ego. And hormones didn't help with that at all.
Mab. Short and easy to remember. And Leanansidhe? A mouthful. She mentally rolled it over in her mind, repeating it so she didn't have the embarrassment of stumbling over the foreign word if she needed to ever refer to the other wolf by name.
A deal. Well, there was only one thing Genocide would desire from the she wolves. Joining the pack.
"Let's. Our pack offers strength, protection, home, and tradition, to those who would join it. What do you offer?"
This banter... it was familiar, beautiful, a memory of how her own old pack had treated others. Life was an object of negotiation, particularly during the harshest winter months. Die, and you feed the pack for a day, live, and what do you offer that's better? It only took two wolves, usually the alphas being the healthiest, to bring down a sick bison. Non-relatives quickly had to prove their use, if they wanted to get in at all. But Genocide knew times had changed. The dogs threatened her lively-hood, war with other packs was potentially ahead...

As cerberus listened to his mates words he knew it wasnt her intent to say those things and he knew she didnt mean it. But he aslo jnew she didnt want to feel as if she couldnt protect or even parol her territory. As he looked at his mate throw up the offer as for protection. As his eyes left his mated body the brighytly orange wolf caught his attention. This was indeed a strange one but it was a wolf but never one he has seen one. As he looked at the two he knew the orange one was submissive and would follow whatever the one petting her ,will tell her what to do.
As he stoof by his mate sife he agreed with his mates side of what she said." Well my mates offer is up for grabs but what is offer that you woukd like to make". As he looked at them he thought of what the pups might look like.

Lea turned her attention away from the two lovers as they spoke with each other. It didn't interest her to get in between or participate in anything if she didn't have to. She did rather hate to meddle in other's affairs. Unless of course it was part of one of her deals. She kept very close tabs on those. Wouldn't do her any good if she didn't. Nothing would ever get done if she lost track of those. Her purpose in life would be no more. She would loose her faithful follower and life would loose its purpose.
When the two were finished, she looked at the female. It seamed she was more in charge then the male. Interesting. She approved of that. It was always refreshing to see that the females weren't all under the paws of the males. She herself would never subject herself to the rule of a male. I see you puzzling over my name. If it pleases you, refer to me as Lea. I have yet to find anyone comfortable with saying my full name.
As Lea talked to the alpha female, Mab lifted her head and looked at the male. She studied him as he studied her. Her mouth spread into a creepy grin and she bored her gaze into his. A dark chuckle started to issue from her chest. The chuckle turned into a cackle and abruptly ended when Lea whacked her across the ears. She then laid her head back on the ground and Lea resumed her petting.
I apologize for Mab. She often has her. . .moments. Lea then stopped talking and studied the pair once more. I don't require protection. Neither does Mab. We can take care of yourselves. No, what you offer does not appeal to us. We can start with the offer of a high rank. Second in command behind you two would appeal to me. Mab needs nothing. She subjects to my rule and my rule alone. So long as you honor our deal, you have no need to worry about her. As for our part of the deal, we offer you protection, assassination skills, and roping others into deals with the pack. All for one year. At the year mark, we can talk again if you wish to further our agreement. And with puppies on the way, we couldn't have you risking your life to do things that you could easily have us do. She then turned almost Note;; Lea talks in teal. If Mab speaks it will be in maroon. Sorry for the slow reply. I picture Mab's laughs like Ed from the Lion King if you are looking for a reference for it.

(Your reply got caught off a little there. 'turned almost'?)
Ah. This was no fool she was speaking to, content to living on the bottom of the totem poll in submission to just anyone who held a title. Genocide liked that, though of course she was keen to show that she was not just a title holder. The previous pack leader had held title for a mere week, the stupid dog, before Genocide had challenged for the position. The coward hadn't even bothered to show her face before Genocide. Obviously, the dog had realized she had no place among a pack of wolves, but if Genocide ever encountered Lacey again, she'd kill her swiftly and mercilessly for giving up her pack so easily.
Of course, as dominant as Genocide was, there was a time when she herself had been willing to be submissive, to a truly strong leader. Such a leader had never shown, and now with her pups, the mother would do anything to protect them. Never would she submit to anything or anyone again, and give them up as tradition demanded. But also, as an alpha it would truly sting her pride to lose her position to anything but death, or very old age to her own children. She could admire a similar attitude when she saw it in others, but made a mental note to start feeling wary if this wolf started getting too close to Kazimir.
"As you said, protection has no appeal." she curled her lips in an amused snarl. Like she was going to let that argument be turned back on her. Or admit to herself that in pregnancy she might need a little protecting. Even a little. "But the rest is all acceptable. Very well, I accept your deal, Leanansidhe." After being told no one had ever felt comfortable saying it, Genocide had made an oath to herself to do so. Her ego would be her downside someday perhaps, but she was not about to call anyone by short pet names out of unwillingness or inability to master the full.
The mad smile and creepy cackle she finally allowed to distract her from all this, and she glanced at Mab. Very, very strange. "What is the species of your... slave? It is not any kind of wolf I am familiar with." If she had guessed their relationship correctly.

She hated getting blood on her paws! The quickly drying liquid matted her porcelain white fur and caused bits of dirt and grass to glue onto her pads, leaving a trail of bloody paw prints behind her. The dolls pink talons sunk into the earth and the terra quickly wiped any traces of blood from them, though why it couldn’t do the same for her fur Circe would never know. The sweetheart’s unique purple and pink eyes hungrily devoured the land around her, looking for an orange fleck amongst the green land; Mab was so easy to spot. Seeing nothing the dainty girl placed her sniffer to the dirt and began tracking her master, easily following their trail.
She walked for what seemed almost a mile and then she heard the voices. Her beautiful flower colored eyes brightened and she pranced over the crest of a small hill, jaws lolling in a toothy grin. There they were, her master and her master’s crony. “Leanansidhe!” Her voice was a gentle soprano breeze, sweet and innocent. The small little albino wolf danced over to her master and bowed, blood caked paws stretching before her. Her sunset eyes sparkled with the promise of a job well done and her tail gave a hesitant wag.
Crice’s eyes wandered over to the duo of wolves before her and she smiled even wider, rosette eyes wide and shimmering. She arched out of her bow to her master and turned to the others, giving them a nod but little more. She only bowed for one being in the world. Unsure of her stance in this conversation the smallest wolf smiled shyly, backing behind Leanansidhe and obediently laying behind her, head low and large fluffy ears perked. What was going on?

Lea watched as the alpha female before worked over what had been said. Really there was nothing wrong with what she had said. It was one of her more perfect deals. Both ends benefitted greatly from it. For a year Lea would not have to wander around. She'd have a safe place to run her "business" from. And she'd get to keep doing what she loved. The two love birds would be able to concentrate on their little ones and their pack and not have to worry about anything happening when she was around. One member they would never have to fear trying to take command from them or hurting the pack. Only for one year though. At the year mark, everything could change.
As the female started to speak, she made sure she paid full attention to her words. One slight disagreement and the whole deal would be smoke. From there things would be worked out or trouble would ensue. She really didn't feel like dealing with trouble at the current moment, especially if trouble could be completely avoided. You are correct. she somewhat purred to the female's first comment. She smirked as the wolf said her full name, and correctly. I am glad that my deal suits you. It will benefit us both greatly. As for Mab, she is a maned wolf. I have come across very few like her.
Lea's dark ears twitched when she heard her named called. She turned her head to confirm her suspicions as to who was calling her. She was rewarded with being correct. It was Circe. Her apprentice in learning her ways. So far she was doing a marvelous job. When Mab noticed the white she wolf, she gave a yip to her.
When Circe bowed before her, Lea reached down and licked her brow. Good job my pet. Looking at the wolf's paws, she smirked at spoke to her again. I assume you were successful in your task?
She stopped petting Mab to reach out and run her paw down Circe's back as she laid down. She then returned her paws back under her and started speaking to both the alphas and Circe. This is Circe, my apprentice if you will. Circe, these two fine alphas here have agreed to appoint me as their second-in-command around her. In return, we will help them with tasks as is our way. You and Mab here will only answer to me as it has always been. If they have need of your assistance, they will go through me. Is this all understood? Note;; Lea talks in teal. If Mab speaks it will be in maroon. Apparently my computer deleted the end of my post. No idea what I was going to put there though. And if you ever need her assistance, send me a PM with a link to the thread you want her to pop into.

As Cerberus listened to them talk about the deal he could see his mate was handling business. But he couldn't trust that orange wolf for some reason. As he looked at his mate he nodded his head in agreement to their deal but wasn't to sure about the one year. As he prepared to say something to them a small voice was heard and he stood up only to see a small wolf come running along.
He watched the small wolf stop in front of them and nod to both him and genocide and nod next to the wolf. As he looked at her he saw her lay down and start to get petted like the orange wolf. This must had been another one of her servants and she must had did something for her cause there was blood on her. As he looked at them he wanted to know who she was in a calm tone of voice" As to who may this wolf be since she knows you maybe you should introduce her". As he a sat back down he waited for there response.

Hmm. A newcomer, and just as strange as the last, an albino of all things.
"I see we aren't the first you've made a deal with." Genocide felt a little wary-- just how many servants did this wolf have? The deal would be quite beneficial to the pack, but the words 'they listen to me alone' couldn't help but roll over her head. The white wolf decided to make one thing clear about their little deal. "The wolves you rope into the pack as part of our deal will answer to us alphas and not just you, correct? A mild note of suspicion crept into her voice, but she tried to keep it neutral. If this was some kind of slow take over, to occur at the one year mark, well... Genocide wasn't a genius, but she wasn't stupid either. Truthfully, having even two wolves that didn't answer to her first and foremost bothered her alone, but it was something she could cope with. Having a pack full of potential traitors in one year's time didn't rub her the right way at all. At least for the moment though, there was no downside. Even if it ended up a crooked deal, Genocide figured, as long as she was careful perhaps more good than bad would come of it, especially if the pack grew greatly in strength and at least some were loyal.
And at the very least, she'd always have Cerberus, she figured. If this sweet talker turned out to have even more dubious desires than she suspected, well, the big hulking male would provide at least some hesitation to anyone. Genocide held her doubts that this deal maker would naturally come to feel any kind of bond with her pack, as was her natural preference, but, then again, she barely knew them yet. Perhaps their plan was relatively innocent, simply to make themselves so invaluable Genocide couldn't risk letting them go and offer their services to another pack when the one year mark was up. If that was all... well, the white wolf would relax quite a bit.
"For the first order, I'd like you to order your little servants to assist in any emergencies, and dealing with intruders. We get quite a lot of them every week." She wasn't going to be stuck looking for Leanansidhe while the forest was on fire, if nothing else, or waste her time with that. And Genocide was going to be quite blunt about the intruder thing, even if it gave the other wolf second thoughts. Injury and death was a real possibility.
Genocide paused thoughtfully, glancing at her mate. Well, if the deal was well and truly settled now... she supposed it was time for telling secrets. Being in the pack, or the second, wouldn't be a free lunch, and there were already matters at hand to deal with. "If Kazimir ever returns from his mission, he was to be our male second. We were planning to use the information he was meant to gather, possibly to launch an attack on one of the dog packs, is that not right Cerberus? I am somewhat worried at how long he is taking. I believe he might have been killed or maimed." It was a possibility. The business of spying was always very risky, well, business, and going out into another pack's territory without invitation doubly so.

Circe curled up into a ball, nose tucked beneath her paws as she watched the alphas of this land. Her fluffy white audits perked as she listened to Leanansidhe, nodding her head in confirmation as a response to her words. Circe had no need to be told this of course; she would always only follow Lea as was their deal. Her master’s paw running down her back caused the petite little albino to wriggle happily, tail giving a shy wag.
The other spoke and Circe’s rosette eyes lit up; she was smart. Circe was known to always find loopholes in her deals and was appreciative of the fact that this essa had caught a possible mistake in her deal with Lea. Circe smiled at her, non-threatening she hoped. “What are you names?” Her sweet voice was quiet and she looked at Leanansidhe cautiously. She wasn’t sure if she were allowed to intrude upon this conversation or if Lea would prefer her silence…oh well. Circe was young and when she was curious she demanded answers.
