No... No! ... NO!
Zero's eyes snapped open to the sound of her own voice wailing incessantly into the cool morning air. Her heart fluttered like a hummingbird trapped within her rib cage, trying to escape. Her breaths were short and shallow, and came at a much quicker pace than they should. The female's copper and ivory face was a stiff mask of terror and shock, her body held motionless, every muscle tensed in sudden fright. Echoes of twisted nightmares still rang within her skull.
Good morning, sunshine.
The single sarcastic thought pierced through the lingering terror of her dreams like an arrow through a water balloon. She was back in the physical world again, where things made sense. Cool relief flooded through her veins. The ibizan sent out a tentative pink slip of tongue around her lips, wetting them as she tasted the stagnant, musty air of the shop in which she had fallen asleep.
As her eyes adjusted to the bright light of dawn she began to register shapes, and after that, muted colors. From what Zero could see, it seemed she had fallen asleep in the back room of a tailor's shop. The light which had blinded her before filtered in through a small, dirty window. The soft yellow glow illuminated the eerie figures of naked, lifeless mannequins, posing as they waited for their garments. It had been a while since anyone had disturbed this place, if the layers of dust upon the model's shoulders were something to judge by. Even from her perch upon a pile of scrap fabric, Zero could tell the colors of the many cloths had faded from their time in the sun. She imagined that the people who had once tended to this shop had been taken by the sickness. Just like her own family.
The hound chased the thought from her mind quickly. It was unnecessary and detrimental to her goals. A sudden shake of her head helped with the clearing of her brain, as if the movement itself loosened the cobwebs of sleep clinging to her consciousness. She lurched onto her feet a moment after that, contorting her neck until a few satisfying pops echoed through the musty silence. A deep, satisfied breath confirmed what the dog already knew. The place was positively abandoned.
The soft clacking of her overgrown nails against a worn wooden floor sounded through the empty store, juxtaposing with the lifeless, crypt-like feel of the place. Humans bared their teeth at her from the faded pictures on the wall, their hairless faces contorted into grotesque facsimiles of smiles. Zero passed by them with a slight shudder.
The hound eased the front door open with her muzzle, bat-like ears perking at the high-pitched creak of the forgotten hinges. The tinkling of a bell was heard as she shoved through the entrance, and the faded "CLOSED' sign slapped loudly against the window pane. Zero wasn't paying attention anymore. Her mind was already focused on the new day, and the tasks were lining up within her skull. By the time the door creaked closed, the thin hound had already set off at a brisk walk into the early morning.

Champ had been walking along the road. Trying to find out where it would get him and what territory he would land in. He hated getting into fights but he mostly got caught in them. He was the martin luther king of the dog world who disagreed with leaving another dog out of a group. He was a different kind of dog. That separated him from the other dogs but he wasn't socially awkward.
He was sweet, cute, loyal and honest as well as strong and intelligent but he wasn't as tall as most dogs like him. He saw a dog in the distance and perked his ears up and wagged his tail to show he meant no harm. He barked showing that he was there and in a good mood. His heart thumped in excitement and his tail wagged harder.
He loved socializing with the nice dogs and rarely got into fights with other dogs unless provoked or he got hurt first. He looked at the dog and they came closer to each other. "Hello. I'm Champ!" He said sweetly and sat down in front of the female.
