His red gaze scanned over the grassy terrain, his ears perked to pick up any sound that was made. The jet-black wold sat at the edge of the forest, examining every detail, every angle, every spot in which something could be hiding. He wasn't afraid of anything, just cautious and wary, which were two good traits to have in his situation. Having just joined the Northern Edge, a group of mostly wolves, he was nothing more than an Omega. The lowest of the low, the bottom of the ranking system, lower in ranking than a pup. He didn't mind, though, or at least tried not to; as long as he was being of some use, then he wouldn't mind what his rank was. He just wanted a family he could be loyal to, and in the chaotic times that the city had entered, he needed to follow some form of order or else risk going insane.
Malice was his name. His human gave him that name, since his appearance left a good impression on her when they first met. She would always tell him that Malice was a pretty name, but it's meaning was unappealing and caused for many judgements to be passed on him by strangers who learned his name. Malice was the name for an evil dog, a traitor or trickster who was always plotting... he was a quiet one, one who sought out knowledge and peace of mind. The wolf-dog sighed before standing and heading into the forest, scouting the area in hopes of finding someplace where prey would hide.
Another thing that was always on the wolf's mind was his huma, Rita. As a member of Northern Edge, he was forbidden from loving his human and ever considering going back to his life as a pet; but he couldn't just forget about her. She was his family, and he had sworn to protect her. There was always a sliver of hope that she had escaped 'Toy Soldier' when she left on her trip. If so, then the Omega was sure that she would return for him, but she was just prevented from doing so. However, since news of her never arrived, the canine's loyalty was bever torn, and he never had to choose as long as he could keep his secrete.
"...Such a quiet day..." he muttered as he looked around slowly, examining the area around him. He loved the forest... It was so peaceful, and just being able to walk around through it was enough to calm him down any day. He kept his ears perked, listening carefully for any sign of anything he could hunt on his own... Maybe if he brought something back, something amazing that could feed most of his Packmates, then he could move up in rank.

Dark brown paws hit the ground softly as the Fae considered what she planned to do today. She had not met many wolves so far in her recent explorations. It was... disheartening. She was a wolf, and wolves were social creatures, or, for the most part. It seemed that one could rule nothing out these days. Everyone was an individual, and she could hardly judge. She shook her head. Where was she now? Radar had a habit of not paying attention to where her feet took her. It was easier to just go with it, and find out what was going on her her mind caught up with her body.
She glanced up at a massive log before her, large thick branches were jutting up from it, and big crevices etched in the side. It was awesome in size, making her shake a little with excitement. She did so love to adventure, and this was interesting new territory to say the least. She strode forward, contemplating how to big natural structure. It once must have been greater even than now, back before it was wrecked in a forest fire. Radar scampered back and forth, finally finding a point where it would be easiest to leap up. She took a running start, only just managing to get herself up onto this over sized thing that was so new and strange to her.
Wide yellow eyes took in the sight before her as she steadied herself. It was even more interesting from here. In her transfixed state, she hadn't even noticed the squawks of birds all around her. As she turned, she saw a black tail disappear through the trees behind her. Who better than Radar to follow and see what was going on? Whoever that was, they must have been foolish enough to try and steal eggs. The nests, she realized, were everywhere. Too tempting, but she would save that little escapade for later. She turned around and let her own dark brown tail swish back and forth as she approached the entrance in which this stranger had gone.
