A soft sigh escaped the muzzle of a young she-wolf as the scents of the forest filled her senses. Besides the usual smells there was nothing that would help send away the pains of her empty stomach. Maybe you're just a lousy hunter she thought glumly while walking through the forest, her black fur blending into the shadows as her gold eyes flicked each and every way for anything worth catching.
Her father, Lucian, was the one who taught her everything she knew about the hunt. He had also said that not every day was a good day for hunting. It was all about luck and timing.
A new scent then entered her nostrils and her mouth watered as she identified it as rabbit. Her muscles instantly tensed as she lowered her body into a hunter's crouch, her ears flicking slightly forward while her nose worked on pinpointing its location. There she thought, eyes narrowing. Her soon to be meal was a couple wolflengths ahead of her and she thanked the heavens that the wind was blowing in her direction. Now it was all a matter of succesfully catching it in the quickest way possible.
Flattening her ears, she softly made her way toward her prey fighting downt the urge to just leap and grab it with her fangs. No, that certainly wasn't the way she had been taught. Patience was certaintly another factor Lucian had drilled into her head. That and having the cleanest kill possible. One paw in front of the other her mind chanted, careful not to place her paws anywhere where it would make the slightest of sounds. A growl almost made its way out of her mouth in anticipation, but she cut it short. She was so close, she could practically taste the rabbit. Now all it took was the final spring and a quick snap of her jaws.

Mickey walked through the forest. There were usually injured canines here and he was a healer so he wanted to be helpful. He saw a wolf and walked up to her. He was fearless to get in the middle of things. "Hello. A wolf, eh?" He said looking at how much taller she was then him. She could gulp him up in a minute, he'd be dog chow! He perked his ears up and looked at her figure. She seemed healthy and didn't need healing. He shrugged then looked at what her attention was focused on. Mickey looked at the rabbit and yapped. The rabbit turned around and Mickey pounced on it. He killed it and brought it up to the wolf. "Whoops, saved you a hunt." He shrugged and looked down.

Her haunches strained from the tension as she lowered herself further to the ground, her belly almost touching the grass underneath her. She took one step forward before she prepared to capture her prey when a voice startled her out of her concentration.
Hello. A wolf, eh?
Flicking her eyes back to the rabbit, her jaw nearly dropped as she saw that it was already sprinting away. A sudden blur of movement then made her stop as she saw the dog capture her prey. Immediately, her hackles rose to reveal her fangs and a low growl escaped her muzzle. He dared to take her prey! I'll show him who's prey that is! her mind exclaimed, amber eyes narrowing. Her mouth opened to demand that he drop her prey but he had already stepped in front of her to drop it at her paws.
Whoops, saved you a hunt
The wolf couldn't help but take a step back in surprise, her eyes wide. For a moment she was speechless. She was sure that this mutt was about to take her rabbit and she was determined to snap his neck for it. But instead he had brought it to her. In her shock, all she could say was, Uh...Thanks... her eyes flicking to the rabbit and back to him in confusion.
