Hess' paws lightly touched the ground that lined the tunnels. His ears were pricked, ice blue eyes were locked a head of him, scanning around for any signs of movement. The tunnels were long abandoned, but they still held that 'creep' factor that unnerved him a bit.
His tail waved behind him slowly as he trotted along. His lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue lolling out the corner and slightly flapping. His ebony and ivory coat was slightly grimy from exploring the tunnels all morning. The temperatur below was cool, much cooler than the surface.
Even though it was spring, there were those hot and lazy days that came every once awhile. Fall was just around the corner. He liked the winter. Not so much the summer.
His nails echoed on the ground, clicking. There were a few old boxes that were scattered along here, as well as old crates. He wondered what was brought down here and transported between the military and the city. He wondered if the humans ever really knew what was going on down here. More than likely the average person didn't know. Now, the secret might be out and about.

Selena's little, black button-like nose was to the ground, huffing up dirt and dust in the process, the female was following the scent of a small rat that had crossed her path and tried to escape through the old tunnels. She hadn't eaten since the last sunset, so even a rat looked appetizing to her. She wandered away, but seemed unconcerned as she looked around one of the corners. Dusty objects were distributed around the stuffy place, and it made it somewhat difficult for Selena to breathe. Her hunger lead her on as she rounded the corner easily. Letting out a high pitched sneeze, she shook her fur out, disgusted by the filthy tunnel. That wasn't going to stop her though, she knew that rat could be hiding somewhere in here and she wanted to know where.
"Here little fella." she called out, her voice was elegant and gentle, very feminine. She peered around yet, another corner, her chocolate brown eyes scanning everything until she noticed something odd. The rear end of a fairly large black and white dog was sniffing around a few boxes. Cautiously she made her way over the cold, dirty cement floor and stood next to the large canine. "Hello."

Hess looked up at the female that approached him. He kept his body posture friendly. He smiled at her.
"Hello there! I'm Hess. What might your name be?" he implied cheerfully as his tail slowly waved behind him on the cold cement floor. It swept back and forth, stirring up old dirt and dust. His blue eyes remained on the fae.
She was nice looking and he hoped she was not one of those nasty dogs that liked to hear themselves talk and belittle everyone around them. Hess' coat was slightly gritty and grimy with dirt, but that came from living on the streets and not bathing appropriately.
"What brings you down here?" he asked her curiously. Most females he knew hated getting their 'paws' dirty per se. But clearly she liked exploring and getting dirty.
Frankly he never understood why some of the opposite sex worried themselves with their looks or keeping themselves clean. Dogs were meant to live out doors and get dirty. He cocked his head to the side and kept his blue eyes on hers.
"I've come down here before so I'm pretty familiar with the layout" He offered her and waited

Selena smiled and let out a quiet sigh of relief, very glad that the male was friendly and cheery, and not like most she'd met who were always looking for trouble or some way to get into a fight. "Name's Selena." She answered happily, she wasn't sure how she felt about the name Hess, but she sure did like his personality, he was like a big mirror of her disposition. Thus, she did know that a dog could change it's mood at any moment, so she didn't completely trust him by his first impression. She sat down, observing him, his body was a little lanky ofcourse from not having enough to eat being a stray as most dogs were. She was new to Genesis, her owners moved there to get medical help, but it was no use, they died just a week ago. So she was fairly new to the streetdog thing. She was about to look away when she suddenly noticed the eyes, beautiful, crystal blue eyes, as he stared at her's with those diamond-like orbs, she felt herself blush. She looked down at her paws, trying to avoid looking straight at him, she hoped he didn't notice. As she went back to observing him, she saw his coat was a little dirty, but weren't they all? She loved the fact of letting loose and taking a soothing dip in a mud puddle on a rainy day, or rolling in wet leaves. The thought made her sigh dreamily, she shook her head and got back to the moment. "Oh, I was just following a rat, he looked chubby enough to fill my stomach, and I was up for exploring so, it all worked out. Except for the fact that the rat got away from me."

hess looked at selena and smiled.
"oh yeah rats are a tastey treat. but come i know a better thing to be eating" hess replied softly as he began leading her toward the main city section.
hess led her to the old restaurant that was nestled just a few ways from where they were. he led her down the alley and found the garbage can which he had stored some things in a few days ago.
he knocked it over and let the content spill out. he looked up at her and grinned.
"bon appetite'" he said cheerfully. "this food is good. i found it a few days ago. i hid it here so no one else would know it was here. it's kinda like my own little place to eat"
he planted his rump down on the ground, forelegs keeping his upper body erect. he watched her, eager for her response. both ears were pricked up right, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them. his blue eyes were locked on selena's , patiently waiting for her to speak again.
he would share this place with anyone, as long as they appreciated it.

Selena's ears perked as she Hess mention the subject of food. "Alright." She answered shyly, and got up to follow him, he seemed like a nice fellow, she couldn't help but admire his looks too. She watched intently as he walked up to a trash can and easily knocked it over, she wanted to know how to do it too just in case, you know. She smiled at him, "Thank you kind sir." She over to him and sat down a few feet away and began to rummage through the food, eating eagerly but not very fast, she didn't want to seem like a hog. OOC- Hope you don't mind me adding this in As she found a piece of burger, she lapped it up and raised her head quickly, not thinking she turned her head and as she dreaded, things took a lovely, but embarrassing turn. Her nose accidentally ended up touching Hess's. A short small gasp erupted from her throat, she had no idea what to do or say, should she step back? Or maybe just turn away? She smiled nervously and pulled her head back, Ugh, you just had to do that didn't you Selena. She thought to herself, she lowered her head in embarrassment, and pretended to search for more food in the pile.

Hess couldn't help but grin at her. He didn't mind that her nose was touching his.
He lowered his head and began digging into the food himself.
"You dont have to call me sir, Just Hess" he said cheerfully as he found a burger and hungrily devoured it.
"I know some short cuts around the city for food. Some of the restaurants are opened but of course no people . its fairly easy to get in and out when you want food" he said as he found another piece of food and snapped it in his jaws.
She seemed embarrassed and Hess thought that was adorable. no female had become shy around him before and it was a new experience for him, one that he rather liked a lot. his tail waved behind him excitedly and happily. a chilly breeze caught his fur whisking it around in several directions. winter was coming in and spring time was leaving.
soon snow would come which wasn't exactly what he was looking for but still, he woudl endear it.
"you dont need to thank me, Selena. us dogs have to stick together right?" he grinned at her broadly
