Bullet walked into the warehouse. It had long filthy windows and boxes with holes in them everywhere. Bullet liked this place because he would blend in due to his dark coat and many hiding spots. He sat in the whole of the box and watched out the creek of the garage door to make sure an animal didn't slip in. He narrowed eyes and waited to see. His black pointy ears pointed up and alert and his body active and ready. This was his territory now and he was going to dominate any dog that entered.
The light from the sun peeked it but Bullet still could not be seen. The box was pitch black inside and it carried food and blankets. Perfect thought Bullet as he ate something and watched the garage door with his watchful blue and brown eye.

Lacey crept through the trees. she wandered for a while; lost in her thoughts. She suddenly spotted a large warehouse, "Hm, this looks like a good place for me." She slipped through the door, she heard a small squeaking noise from it, she froze in place as she noticed a dark figure sitting before her. She could sense it was a male dog. Lacey started to let out a low growl, if she couldn't have this place all to herself, she wasn't going out without a fight, her black back fur rose up, she snapped at the male, trying to look as intimidating as possible. Her growling grew louder as she took a step closer to him, her rich chocolate brown eyes flashing in the occasional rays of sun that shown through the cracked walls. Her folded ears flew back as she snapped once again, this male was way bigger than her, but she wasn't going to stop her from taking him on, she had great self-confidence, along with a lack of self-knowledge. She always thought she could take any dog on, or any creature for that matter, which explained some hard to see scars spread across her furry body.

Bullet smirked at the female who was about 4 inches smaller then him and he trotted around her then sat in front of her. He wanted to look tough but she was beautiful. "Ahh little feisty one aren't you m'lady?' He wasn't scared but she was tough and knew how to make herself look scary and vicious. "Don't waste my time trying to fight me when I have no fight to put up against you. You are no threat to me m'lady." He smiled and his ears sprang up. His tail wagged a bit but he stopped himself. He was getting lost in her beauty. He shook it off and smiled. He brought out a bone and said "Here is a present for trying to scare me." He chuckled and jumped on a box. He barked a deep loud ear splitting bark. "What is a pretty lady like you doing around here?"

Lacey eyed the large Doberman, she could sense he was a male, she kept her fighting position as he rounded her, not sure if she should trust him yet. Observing him, she couldn't help but notice how muscular and noble-looking he was, yet she knew she couldn't let looks deceive her. As was done when she was about 2 years old, when she fell for an Alaskan Malamute, little did she know he would soon later leave her for another bitch. Thinking back about that made her sad, so she shoved the thought aside and came back to the moment. The male aggravated her as he spoke, "Pfft, no threat uh? Well I don't feel like shedding blood today, so consider yourself lucky." Lacey sat down as he tossed her a bone, looking down at it, she looked at him warily, confused about why he gave it to her. She reached her head down and slowly brought it upward, still watching the male, she threw it up and opened her mouth for the bone to come straight into her split jaws. "Well, I'm the Alpha of the Northern Ridge, I came here just to take a break from the predators up there, ya know how it is."

He grinned and said "Sure, I know how it is. And stop staring at me like i'm going to murder you. You don't have to trust me but imma tell you i am safe." He smiled and grabbed a bone for himself. He demolished it in 5 bites and looked at her again. She was a pretty black and white and her ears were perky even though she was alert. "Ahh Northern Ridge. Cool. It's nice over there." He smiled and winked at her. He jumped on a box and laid down but still watched her. Not out of caution but out of what she was going to do next. "Want to go to my hotel? It has great food and a bed and a tv and toys in the bathroom. Its really fun up there." He said getting out of his intelligant approach and starting to get a bit smooth and comfortable. He walked up to the opening in the garage door and motioned to come with him.

Lacey loosened up a bit and relaxed, she watched as the male wolfed down his own bone quickly. She could see his long, smooth black neck move a little as the food went down, she couldn't imagine a dog like him living in Northern Ridge. She thought he looked too sleek and city-like to live there, nevertheless, she took his word for it. 'Hotel?' Lacey really wanted to find out what a hotel was, she hadn't been very familiarized with that word at all, and with her curious nature that urged her to go. She stood up, shook off her dirty pelt, and walked towards the male. "By the way, I never got your name." She kept walking and past him, her tail brushing his chin as she went out the door, that creaking sound ofcourse erupted from the unoiled door. She took the male's request to come as somewhat flirting, so she honored it back with that.

He smirked and he shook his head off when her tail rubbed him on the chin. He walked to the hotel and went through a hole in the back. It had nice tile floors and brown walls with wild horses on them. He led her to the stairs and they walked up the dusty carpet stairs. The carpet was white and was soft and almost nice enough to lay on. "My name is Bullet. Call me Bull. How about your name m'lady?" He said winking at her yet again with his one blue eye. He went passed closed door which inside they were empty from food and actually interesting things. He found an opened door on the 2nd floor. He went into the house and quickly sat on the couch and pressed the on button on the TV. "Look animal Planet!" He said looking at her then chuckling. He went into the kitchen and brought out food. He set it on the couch. He ate some and let her have some.

Lacey followed as she watched Bullet slip through the hole, she did the same, "I'm Lacey." A few pulled furs got caught on the rough edges and she yelped, but low so no one could hear. Her black furry ears perked and her eyes lit up as she entered and suddenly saw the amazing room filled with lights and paintings. She started to pant heavily, as she always did when she got excited, she bolted for the bouncy bed and jumped off, Lacey, like all Border Collies, was naturally a VERY high energy dog. She raced around the room, frequently stopping to check out something interesting, but tried not to knock anything down, she was very graceful when she ran, so she didn't have to worry much about that. She didn't hear as Bullet spoke, or much less watch him, because of her playing around the room, suddenly, she heard a loud crash. She looked back and saw a large glass vase, "Uhhhh." Lacey laughed nervously and slinked over to Bullet on the couch. "Hehe, sorry about the..." She nodded her head towards the broken glass.

He moved and nudged her. He chuckled. "It's ok. Like I care about some stupid vase. What am i going to do, admire it?" He chuckled and knocked the dresser down then sat back on the couch. His eyes met hers and he smiled charmingly. He opened the fridge and grabbed out a big bone. He gnawed at one side and offered another one to her. "Your really pretty." He said "You should consider joining West Side. It's bigger and more dogs are vicious and have there heart set on protecting and dominating other dogs from other packs." He kindly smiled and said "But I said CONSIDER. So don't get mad." He said sitting up and looking at the big flat black TV which had some kind of animal cop show on it. He ate the rest of his bone then pulled a blanket over himself.

Lacey smiled as Bullet spoke in his charming tone, glad that her didn't mind. She felt a bit sheepish as he looked her in the eye, she hadn't been one for sudden love, but this was different, she didn't know why, but it just was with Bullet. She laid her head down on her paws, she yawned, it was pretty late, she thought she'd best get to the Northern Ridge, maybe build a quick den to sleep in. Her tail thumped as Bullet called her pretty and gave her a pack request. She opened her mouth to say yes, but then she thought about it. On one paw, she would still have her territory to look after, on the other, she wanted to be in a pack with Bullet. "I don't know, what about my other territory, I'll still have to look after it." She suddenly got mad at herself for saying that, Bullet would probably be disappointed, and Lacey hated to see any of her loved ones sad.

He looked down. He was expecting that answer but it was OK. "Wanna sleep here tonight?" He said. "Northern Ridge is quite some ways away." He said as he knows himself from some visits when it wasn't anyones territory. He thought she was really pretty and he wanted her to stay one more night. Why couldn't she be in his pack. He doesn't have anyone who lives here besides himself and some prey for a snack or when he is bored.
He licked her cheek, not thinking and went into the room. He laid down and just did nothing. He had some things to think about. He trotted back out "You can sleep in the other room." He smiled He looked at the bedroom across from his room and he nudged the side of her cheek. She was nicer now and more open. "If you want to go back to your territory it's fine. But you will be tired while walking there." He said being sweet and looking charming.

Lacey held her breath as he licked her, she listened intently as Bullet talked, her folded ears poked forwards. "Sure." She answered, glad he asked her, if he hadn't she probably would have left for Northern Ridge. She got up and started to walk to the other room, she took one last look at Bullet and smiled. As she entered the room, her heart sank. She felt a sudden loneliness without him with her, she crawled over to the side of a bed and jumped onto it. She circled three times to even it out and plopped down onto the soft bed cover. Lacey closed her eyes, she tried so hard to fade into sleep, but she felt restless and lonely without Bullet by her side. Her head rose, she hopped off the bed and trailed over to the other room Bullet was in. She walked over to him sleeping, she crawled next to him trying not to make a sound and laid down beside him a couple of inches away. Her tongue mindlessly slipped out of her mouth and lick his shoulder, she smiled and put her had back on her paws, she knew she belonged with him, she decided that she would join his pack. Heck with the Northern Ridge, she didn't have any pack members anyway.

Bullet opened one eye as she crawled next to him and smiled. He hoped she didn't hear but he said "I love you." He kind of wanted her to hear but he didn't know how she would feel back. He crawled closer to her then plopped down and fell asleep.
When Bullet woke up the next morning and he found that Lacey was still asleep so he grabbed a big bone from his secret stash and put it next to her then set himself next to her. She was so pretty when she slept. Her beautiful eyes were closed so he closed his eyes and waited for her to get up.
What is she loved him back, they had puppies or she became a west sider. No he thought. She probably will only love him in his life time but Bullet would never know. His thoughts drifted away into him falling back asleep and he dreamt of him and his family again. His family roaming a field with him, chasing an animal, fighting a rival game. He let out a soft whine and yet again woke up. If she was awake then he would want her to hear this "Ilove you and I want you to join my pack." In a softer tone he whispered "Be my mate." He sat back down and watched to see what she would do.

At first, Lacey had no idea what to say, she felt joy overcome her. She didn't feel it, but her feathery tail wagged furiously from side to side when Bullet spoke. As she shook her head off, her little ears flopped around, she sat up, "I want to join your pack and be your mate." Her tail thumped a little and ears went back as she lifted her head and licked his chin. "And guess what..." She paused, her left paw went up as she leaned over a bit, "I love you too." She whispered back, she nuzzled Bullet behind his perfectly pricked ears, tail slowly waving behind her. She got up and stepped forward, she looked back at him to make sure he was watching, "Check this out." Lacey ran up to the fridge, back up, and hopped on top of it. "Guess who I learned that from." She smiled at him, knowing he knew the answer.

He smiled and wagged his tail. Wow Lacey was now with him. Forever engraved in his big heart thst now grew bigger. He laughed. "Oh wow Lacey." He smiled and jumped from the couch to the top of the fridge with her. He licked her cheek and made a mental note. Lacey, Lead Female.
The moment you know another dog is perfect and they know it is too is golden. The moment you find out your heart is set on one female and only one and she has her heart set on only one male. "Lacey, I never knew this would happen." He smiled and nudged her cheek gently. "I did fall in love when i first saw you but you were still defensive." He chuckled really hard this time.
"Do you like pups?" He said wondering. He liked pups because that was more stray, strong swift little mini Bullets guarding the West Side or just lurking in Maine. Lacey and Bullet's eyes met at the moment that he licked her.
