A medium sized Long-haired German Shepherd slipped through the brushes and trees of the mountaintop. Her tail waved in the air as she walked. Snow clung to her black and brown mixed pelt helping her blend with the ground and snow around her. Her musles rippled under her thick soft pelt. Her large paws sunk into the snow and hit the ground as she walked hearing the crunch of some leaves under her pads. She lifted her nose to the air letting the dents of the bushy area overwhelm her. She could smell and hear other creatures rustling about. The stray decided to walk over to the edge of the mountain, she crawled under the big patch of dead bushes that blocked the mountain lookout. She yelped quietly as her fur got caught in the bushes' rough, poky branches. She jerked herself loose from the branches' hold on her, loosing a small amount of fur on her shoulders and back. "Phew." She exhaled as she turned her head to lick the tiny bald spots sprinkled with dots of blood. She walked forward and sat down at the edge, she smiled at the magnificent view of mountains. That was one thing she adored about Eagle's Peak, the place might have not had a good and safe atmosphere, but the view was spectacular. She plopped down and lifted her long snout to the air, she sensed another dog near, her head whipped around, anxiously looking for the lurking canine. "Who's there?" She lowered her head to her paws and flicked her ears to catch any answer.

Genocide held the intruder with mild annoyance. On one hand, the scent marks here had gotten old, the old alpha having abandoned the pack and marking them. On the other hand, Genocide was remarking them just now. Should she treat the law of no trespass as holding effect, or give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn't realize it had been reclaimed? And, being a dog, maybe she should just kill them...
However, before she could make up her mind for violence, the dog's voice echoed across the peaks-- nervous, not the rude defiance she had been expecting. With a sigh, Genocide headed forward. "It is I." The white wolf revealed herself, standing on top of a ridge of rock. "This land is being claimed by a pack. Just so you know, loners who intentionally cross the scent borders in the future will not be tolerated." she growled, then gave a lazy smirk. "So enjoy the view long and carefully."
The idea that a dog might want to join her pack never crossed her mind. They were man's creatures, none of them would ever intentionally abandon the city or his side, never choose to reject mankind, willing to kill their own canine brethren first. That was what dog meant; a traitor to wolf kind. She would never forget the day a pack of them had helped a human hunt down and kill her ex-mate. Never.

Turning back again to see a wolf above her was a bit frightening, never before had she encountered one in her life. Except for the small acquaintanceship of a grumpy one that almost killed her. But being quite the forgiving creature, with only a little hesitation, answered as submissively yet friendly as possible, after the she-wolf had given her miniature speech. Her pricked furry brown ears moved back as the female let out a short growl. "Yes, thank you." As she turned her head back to the mountains, her head jerked up. "By the way, I never got your name, I'm Selena." She cocked her head and smiled cheerfully, trying very hard to prevent a scuffle between them.

Well, at least she was submissive. And polite. That soothed Genocide's feeling quite a bit, being an instinctive creature, it was wired in her genes not to attack those who submitted. Otherwise, no one would ever roll over and show their bellies, since that would just leave them vulnerable to attack, and fighting would be endless. Her tail, held high, lost some of its aggressive kinking, relaxing a little.
"My name is Genocide." she returned the favor, and gave her name as well. "Not as nice sounding as Selena, I know." Selena? It didn't seem to have a meaning. Must be a human sort of name. Or perhaps her parents had chosen it because it sounded pretty. Genocide had to admit her own name was very... offputting to any who heard it. Which was just the way she liked it, really. Her parents had been if possible sometimes even more aggressive than her. Sadly, even despite the willingness to fight off and face any troubles, few of their pups-- her siblings-- had survived to adulthood. Some dangers couldn't be fought.

Selena's ears drooped, "Yeah it is, I've always thought that name was very elegant." She gave her tail a quick little wag to convey her, if there was one thing she loathed, it was seeing anyone sad. Friend or enemy. She got up and slinked over to the wolf, she did the normal muzzle sniff, knowing faintly what she learned was a vital custom for wolves to meeting a new wolf. She sensed ofcourse that the fea was the protective and cautious type, she didn't blame her. Her life was probably messed up in the past, like her's, even though she was a wolf, there was an added wariness to her. So she thought she would best slack off the family talk, just in case she had none. "So, how was your day Genocide?"

She sniffed Selena back, though always keeping her head high, surprised even as she did it. Scent, far more meaningful and unique than a name, wafted into her nose and cemented Selena into her mind. The dog--Selena-- knew the customs? That shocked her. She'd always thought of them as being, well, unrepentant savages. She was beginning to find it hard to dislike the other female in spite of herself.
And goodness, when had been the last time someone had asked her how her day had went, or engaged in any kind of idle chatter? She really couldn't remember. Awkwardly, she dropped into a sit, sensing she might be in for an actual conversation. With a dog. That was extremely strange.
"It was well I suppose." Idle chit chatter. She wasn't even sure if she remembered how such things went. Genocide truthfully hadn't met many strangers in a peaceful manner. Read, she hadn't met many strangers she hadn't immediately tried to kill or had try to kill her. "I've spent most of it with the dull task of scent marking. And you?" She was doing it. A civil discussion with no sly, suspicious or aggressive undertones, with a complete stranger. Genocide never thought she'd see the day.

Selena's left ear went back as she had a half smile on, glad she got the Genocide sucked into her little chat, it was a while since she'd spoke with anyone but herself. Not that she was crazy or anything, but she found talking to herself enjoyable, that way, no one can talk back and say your stupid, or criticize you for your ideas. Yet, talking to someone other than yourself felt good to her, she listened intently as the wolf spoke of her day. "Mmm, that must be hard, with this much land you got, it would take a while huh? And I'm good thanks for asking, I've just been bored the past couple days, so I thought I might get out and go to the country."

Butch yawned, slowly streching and padded to the near by stream. He bent down to drink and suddenly heard voices. Voices?! Dogs and wolves never came around his part of the city! Especially not females. Curiosity took complete control over the large Beaceron as he crept closer to the sounds. He kept his head high to show if they were threats, he would take no crap. His ears alerted forwards incase he needed them. The scent of two females grew stronger.... Which meant a male aaas nearby. It was just like a mother and her pups. So irritating. A small rumble from the sky told him he didn't have mich time. Butch quickened up his pace, his muscles rippling and jaw clenched, his muscular legs carried him swiftl to the brush which he hid in for a while... Then stepped out.
There were two females as he presumed, one a smaller German shepherd, and the other a larger wolf. Meaning, she was either far away from her pack, or it was close by. Great. Just what he needed in the part of town. More wolves. Oh well, he'd just play it like he usually did. Game on, girls. Stepping lightly before the females, he smiled a sly smile. "Hello ladies. Lovely evening, isn't it?" He smirked, this had to be fun.

As cerberus began to wake from his slumber he noticed genocide was near or to be seen. As he raised off the ground he stretched and began to search for his girl as he walked along he saw foot patterns in the ground and followed after a couple of minutes of following he caught the smell of a dog a female dog at that. As he walked he thought his mate must had gotten hungrey and deciced to hunt as he continued to walk he could see in the distance his mate.
As he walked on he noticed a dog come up it was the one he sniffed and was female. As he contiued he saw the dog was submissive but the smell of of a male caught his nose. As he stalked towards there area he listebed to the male try to make a cobversation as he walked his body threw the bushes with a growl so that he could throw the male off his guard and to focus on him." Dear are you ok did either of them hurt you". See the dog was almost as big as him he took caution cause he was older but would he throw his life on the line to protect genocide.

The wolf hesitated, pondering over her next question. Should she offer? To let a dog join her pack? Even moments ago, such a thing would have been totally out of her mind, but... Selena had been surprisingly pleasant to be around. Well mannered and submissive. "Would you perhaps like to stay in the--"
She was interrupted by the appearance of a male dog, and immediately, all her relaxation disappeared, as well as her trust. Her hackles rose and the white wolf bristled, lips curling, especially at his lack of submissive body language approaching. This was bold, too bold on her own territory. Her tail rose, and Genocide forgot what she had said only moments before about only recently claiming it. "Yes, lovely. Why are you intruding here?" she almost snarled.
However, hearing her mate enter in, her hackles smoothed and she reined in her temper. Genocide laughed at the approach of Cerberus, and at his, in her mind, ridiculous question. "As if I'd let them do such a thing, darling."
