The ebony wolf raced through the deserted meadow, a shadow among shadows in the dead of night. He preferred the darker hours, as sunshine bothered him. It was.. too happy. The dark was a refuge for the demons of the night. It was a time when shadows ran wild and evil took control.
Kazimir slowed, coming upon a scent marker. Wolf. It was about damn time. Too many dogs were lurking about. It bugged him, made him want to go on a killing spree until they were all dead. His hackles rose at the thought of such a glorious hunt. 'One day. One day we will have our revenge on those filthy animals.' Kazimir nodded in agreement with the hissing voice echoing in his mind.
His torn right ear twitched as he lifted his muzzle to the starlit sky, calling for the alpha of these lands. He had ambitions, and they would never be realized on his own.

As Cerberus raced threw his turf he has chasing a rabbit that was slowly getting exhausted. As he saw the rabbit try to turn he slipped making the ultimate mistake. As his jaws opened showing his fangs they clamped around his prey with violent force. He was happy he was hunting and making most of his kills.
While he walked with his prey dangling from his mouth his ear twitched as he heard a howl, no howl will go unheard especially in his lands as he raced to the area he stopped a couple of feet and placed the rabbit in a bush for safe keeping. As he made it up the hill he say a brown wolf not as big but from the looks it must have been a cousin to wolves a smaller breed perhaps. As he looked down with a smile across his face and in a dominate position spoke." Now just who might you be to intrude in my lands as if you lived here and to that give me a reason why you are here or why I just shouldn't chase you off now".
As he watched the wolf he wanted to see where his heart was and was going to make sure as he stayed on top of the hill he could make out the wolf was light brown nothing compared to his pure black fur, as he watched his lips peeled back revealing his deadly weapons of choice and he let out a growl loud enough for him to hear.

((OOC: Kaz is black. Just saying. And large for a grey wolf. )) Kazimir looked up at the black wolf cresting the hill. His dark amber eyes narrowed, smelling the faintest hints of fresh blood. His stomach churned, reminding him of how long it had been since he'd last killed. The dark wolf resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the other's words. This wolf was an alpha by stance, but not one trained in the arts of eloquence and diplomacy. For that, he sent up a silent thanks to Makenzy, wherever that old wolf was, for training him. "If you were truly focused, wolf, you would see that I am waiting patiently on the outside of your scent markers. I am not intruding, I am not stealing prey, and I am not attempting to harm you in any way. Therefore, you have no proper reasons for chasing me away." Kazimir's words flowed smoothly from his mouth, the sound deep and intriguing. At the growl, Kazimir's hackles started to raise, but he forced them down. He wouldn't start a fight, not while trying to be diplomatic. Instead, he spoke again, both curious and seeking information. "Are you the only leader of the pack that resides here?"He sure hoped there was another alpha. One more.. suited to leadership, especially diplomacy. He kept his gaze fixed on the other wolf, years of battle making him wary. 'The Voice'"Speech"

( Ok I'm sorry for the saying he was a different color ) As he continued to watch him he noticed he was just out side the border a little close but outside it so he could live with that. As he lowered his rear down to sit he listened as he spoke about not getting chased, I could still chase him away from the pack border but what good would that do. As he watched the black wolf he heard him ask if he was the only alpha. " No my good friend me and my mate control this territory but why does that matter to you". As he looked him over he could see he was large for his size of wolf but that didn't matter to him. He could see that the male was fit and he was in need of pack members if they was to attack west side." Now since I started wrong I apologize and my name is Cerberus and what might your name be and would you happen to be here cause of the pack or you just happen to catch the smell of us and decided to check it out". As he bowed his head toasted the older wolf he started to turn and walk to where the rabbit was hidden as he came around the hill he walked towards the wolf and dropped the rabbit outside the borders nodding to say he could have it and as a sign of friendship if this wolf joined his pack they could slowly take out west side members.

Kazimir nodded. At least there was another wolf in charge. "I was only curious. No need to get so defensive." His voice was calm, but his eyes held a glimmer of mischief.
He didn't flinch or back down as the wolf came closer. He held his head high, but his tail remained slack, resting in a neutral position. "My name is Kazimir. Currently, I seek a pack to which my talents could be of use."
He hesitated on the word talents, trying to determine the best word to describe his love of blood and the thrill of the hunt. He was an expert killer, and he was terribly proud of that.
His dark amber eyes looked warily at the rabbit. His stomach growled softly, and he leaned his head down to take a bite. He kept his eyes fixed on Cerberus, however, still not trusting. Once he took a few bites of the rabbit, he passed it back over the border with a nod to indicate the prey should be shared.
The scent markers he stood near were fresh; this pack had to be new. There wasn't the stale smell of old markers lingering around, just the sharp scent of newly-laid boundaries. Of course, it could just be that the pack had recently added this land to their territory, but he didn't really believe that to be true.
Kazimir spoke again, his voice still deceptively calm. "I am here because I want information. If the information I receive appeals to me, I might join this pack. If you do not mind my questions... How long has your pack resided in these lands? How many wolves are there here?" His speech was unhurried; he was in no rush. He remained calm and civil, his tone almost friendly.

As he listened to the wolf speak calmly he decided to speak back calmly as well. What good would it do if he was aggressive and the opponent wasn't. As he looked at the wolf lean his head down but kept his looked with cerberus and ate some of the rabbit he nudged it back over the border towards Cerberus.
As he listened to him speak about talents and looking for a pack he thought it would be good for him to start recruiting new members. But as he listened he heard him ask about information that sort of made Cerberus rethink himself to say this wolf was a spy." Well if you may know we currently have 5 but we will have 6 if you decide to join my pack we are slowly growing larger but what would make you ask something like that isn't a pack of wolves better or are you one of those wolfs that side with dogs". As he watched and waited for the wolfs response he lowered his head towards the rabbit and began to eat so he could past the time while he listened.

Kazimir choked down a growl before it grew big enough to sound. How the hell was he supposed to know it was a pack of wolves and not just a pack of dogs led by a wolf? For Lucifer's sake, he'd only been here a few moments! Already, he was taking a dislike to this wolf, this alpha. He hoped the other was better.
"How do you expect me to know that this is a pack of wolves, and not just a wolf leading a pack of dogs? There are no others with you, and nothing to indicate that you are not leading a pack of mangy mutts. Do not question my motives. I like to know as much as I can about a situation before making a decision."
'Damn fool. Probably doesn't know the difference between a mutt and a wolf! Arrogant fool. That'll be the death of him, I swear it.' Kazimir's scarred right ear twitched once as the Voice spoke, and it was angry. He knew it wouldn't be long before the Voice started whispering pretty words of blood and death and destruction into his mind.
He pushed those lingering thoughts away, focusing on the conversation. "And what of ranks? Are there any open? If so, how are they to be acquired?" Yea. He had ambitions. Definitely.

Genocide came in, a little depressed at what she over heard. She was well aware of the foolishness of her mate, but honestly at the time she'd had no better options. As well, she was grateful to Cerberus for sticking by her side in the pack's time of greatest weakness. But... she could not help but hope a stronger male would come around and rip out his throat for her. She was rather... vicious like that.
And this newcoming wolf seemed to have a brain. A real, actual brain. They badly needed that. "I didn't expect you to; but at least you know now." she broke in. "Pardon my dearest. He has little tact." It was true enough. It seemed like everyone Cerberus encountered he tried to pick a fight with, she swore. "Our ranks, our laws, as the pack itself, is very traditional. We heavily frown upon those new dog packs springing up in the city, not just for the dogs but for the way mutts behave. I expect that's the reason Cerberus was so quick to bristle." she chuckled. The idea that there pack seemed in any way like a dog's... But still, there was no excuse. "Ranks, quite simply, are claimed and won. Either you are dominant, or you are not. If you cannot defend your claim to rank, you lose it swiftly at the next meal, when your betters eat before you. We have no love of the new ways of pacifistically assigning rank. The one exception is one of the alpha positions; for the strength of the pack, they are expected to be a pair, to ensure the pack does not dwindle in size." For some, producing pups might be distasteful, but it was the alphas' duty as the strongest and fittest, and in return for getting first right to eat at large meals.
She paused, a smirk on her lips. For the moment, this wolf had her whimsical favor. And she knew exactly what he must be thinking. Anyone with half a brain would have ambitions. "It so happens beta male is open." Start there... and work up? Of course, that would be a matter of outliving Cerberus. But considering how quick they were to bristle and get into conflict, well, she didn't expect her poor mate to live long anyway. Hopefully she would not be mateless again this year.

Kazimir almost sighed in relief. Finally, a wolf with a semblance of a brain. And.. the alpha female. His amber eyes sized up the female, his ears listening to every word, his nose taking in and breaking down her scent. All his sense worked in unison to figure this wolf out.
'Dominant, definitely. Knows her place as alpha, and willing to fight for it.' The Voice hissed in his ear, causing that involuntary twitch. 'Not bad on the eyes, either. Getting the male out the way, though, might prove to be a challenge.' 'Nothing worse than I've faced before. Makenzy taught me well.'
After the conversation in his head died down, he flicked his eyes between the two wolves before speaking to the female. He met her gaze for a few heartbeats before slightly lowering his eyes to her nose. Submissive, but not overly so. He refused to grovel at the paws of any wolf, much less strangers. "I am Kazimir. I come from everywhere, and nowhere. My training as a youth was difficult and intense, but it made me strong. Currently, I seek a pack in which my skills could be of use. Perhaps that place is here."
He glanced back to Genocide's eyes, then looked at Cerberus. He held his head proudly, his tail still hanging lightly in a neutral position. His voice was calm, with those deep undertones that were so alluring to many females. He couldn't help it; it was the voice he was granted. "You must know, however, that I have lived most of my life alone. Submission does not come easily to me, and I refuse to bow down to just any wolf. In this case, though, I suppose I could make an exception for you." He dipped his head in respect toward the female, a ghost of a smile on his lips. Yea, he could be charming, when he wanted to be.
"Your beta male position is open. What must I do to prove myself worthy of the position?" His amber eyes rested on Genocide's, not challenging, merely holding the gaze of a fellow wolf as though equal. 'Soon, Kazimir. Soon.'

As he listened towards the males response get broken in to he heard his mate come in. Cerberus didn't want to be aggressive he had to though in case the wolf came looking to take over but he wasn't his mate looked a little depressed and Cerberus could only do one thing that would shock both her and the male. As he heard his mate say beta he looked towards the male and bowed his head" Well my mate has taken a liking to you and I would like it if you would accept my apology for coming towards you in a certain manner".
As he raised his head up he looked at the male with a honest smile he would be honored to have him join his ranks. He knew the male didn't like him at this point but he hoped for a second chance and maybe they could be the best of buddies maybe one day he may need help and this male was the only one he could rely on.

(Sure, I don't mind.)
Genocide was, quite honestly, astonished at her mate's apology, and blinked rapidly for a moment before regaining a neutral expression. Ah, perhaps now Cerberus would act with his wits about him. Though, she suspected the damage had already been done, and that this apology would only worsen Kazimir's opinion of him. It was not submission, she knew, but similar enough to it that Cerberus would have to work hard to make up for it. Still, she could feel her time nearing, and she and Cerberus would most likely have pups this year, further cementing his position for a time. But for a time only. The pack would face struggles, and whether such struggles would create genuine friendship had yet to be seen-- or rewards.
She could not help but be a little charmed by the other wolf, even as she knew better than to trust him just yet. The slight degree of submission's significance was not lost on her, as well as the fact his words were directed at her rather than at her mate, nor did she fail to notice him looking toward her a few moments later as an equal. It was with a sly, mischievous mood that she matched eyes with him permissively, allowing him this small victory of sorts. It was not many she would allow to look her in the eye, especially without fear. However, there was definitely a willingness to challenge in her gaze-- not that anything else was to be expected. This male was intriguing indeed. Though, perhaps half of that was her hormones talking. She'd see what she thought of him once the season was over, and her mood a little more rational.
"I would like you to scout out the neighboring packs, and report to me which of them you think is weakest." A test of his wit, more than his stealth-- some packs were so friendly you could walk right up to them and just ask to visit and tour the whole place. Genocide shuddered internally at such practices, so alien to a wolf's way of thinking-- barbaric, in her mind, clearly resulting from spending too much time with man.
She would so enjoy destroying them for their weakness.

Kazimir couldn't help but remember his mentor's words as Cerberus apologized. 'Your apologies are useless! Your promises mean nothing!' The dark wolf had learned that day that apologies were a sign of weakness, and a wolf's word was only as good as the wolf who spoke.
He merely nodded at the male, his eyes still cold. He turned his full attention back to the female. Ugh. The idea of having to talk to those poor excuses for animals repulsed him. But, if this is what it took to get power, then it is what he would do.
"Very well then." Kazimir dipped his head in respect to the alpha, before turning and darting away on his mission. His strides were long and easy, his muscles bunching and stretching as he pulled himself farther away from the territory. He would acquire the information and return to claim his position as beta. Then, it would be only a matter of time until he stood in Cerberus' place. First beta, then alpha. The power would be his.
Kazimir smiled as he ran, thoughts of honor and glory and power running through his mind, with the Voice's dark laughter the soundtrack of the montage.

(montage haha)
Come back safely. she thought. Or not at all. And certainly, don't bring a thousand dogs to our door. But she guessed he was far more careful than that. She would not have let just anyone claim beta, after all, regardless if the position was open. Genocide watched in amusement as he ran off, and glanced at her mate. "So what did you think of him, love?"
It would be... interesting to see what the male thought of the other male.

As cerberus watched the male leave the area a low growl escaped. Never again will a apology come towards that male. As he raised off the ground and prepared to exit his mates sweet voice caught his attention." As to how I think of him it is undecided he will have to prove himself but if you take a likeing to him then he may stay around. But I dont completly trust him yet and he is a little odd but time will tell my love".
As he walked past his mate he brushed against his side against her in a sweet manner she ment the world to him and would do anything to protect her but what really caught him was he thought she might be pregneant he would be happy but that would also throw him on edge with this male wanting to be beta.
